Low Vision Magnifier

Low Vision Magnifier; Fall 2014-Fall 2016 (team project for 2.76: Global Engineering)

Goal: design a low vision device capable of near-field and far-field magnification that can be financially accessible to students in developing nations

Roles: member of first project team in 2014 that designed overall system architecture and preliminary form factor, and made first prototype (worked primarily on electronic design and software)

-mentor for a team continuing the project in a graduate level design course in fall 2015 and fall 2016

The proposed system architecture to meet project design requirements was identified by studying prior art, commercial products, and analyzing the limits of traditional optics
